I chose Beau Papillon for my wedding as I am useless at making myself look glam and wanted someone who could come along and sort me and the other ladies out – which they did extremely well!
They pride themselves on being relaxed but even I was surprised at being offered a bowl of cereal or some toast when I turned up at Leanne’s house after an early start from home in Oxford! I stuck with biscuits instead and we chatted about what I wanted with my look for the day. I have naturally curly hair so was a bit apprehensive about how things would go, as many hairdressers don’t know how to handle my hair and I end up looking like something from the 80’s! Luckily Leanne did a great job with it and I felt happy and reassured about the big day. Sarah came along and did my make-up trial. I don’t usually wear much make-up so didn’t want to look over done, but Sarah did it really nicely and it still looked natural, which was fab.
On the big day they turned up promptly to the B&B where we were getting ready. Unfortunately I was running late (oops!) so they had already got started on one of my bridesmaids when I arrived. The whole morning was all very fun and relaxed, and remarkably calm considering we had 4 of us getting ready, plus a very tall photographer ducking under the sloping ceiling and even a pair of tiny babies in the room (one belonging to my bridesmaid and the other to Sarah!)
My sister and I had both our hair and make-up done, my Mum had just her hair done, and my other bridesmaid Louise had just her hair done. We were all really happy with the results and were still looking glamorous right into the evening, which shows what a fantastic job they had done. I got lots of compliments and it was lovely that I still looked natural and like “me”, which was just what I had wanted. Thanks ladies!
