I found Beau Papillon online, and let me say, I'm really glad I did. I moved to Bath about two years ago, and have had nothing but bad experiences with its salons. I didn't fancy going out to one on the morning of my wedding - if it had been slightly damp my hair would have gone immediately frizzy, and no one wants memories of their wedding day to revolve around frizzy hair. So I was thrilled that Sarah and Leanne offered to come to me, and I'd only have to brave the great outdoors to get to the church.
I'm the type of bride Sarah and Leanne must hate. I had, at best, a vague idea about my hair, and was completely clueless as to make up. But these ladies were wonderful. On the day of the trial, over a cup of tea, Sarah asked me how I normally wore my make up and what I'd be comfortable with. I appreciated that she did the make up first and let me make up my mind about it while Leanne did my hair.
After agonising for ages, all I really knew about my hair was I wanted it half-up-half-down. Leanne took one look at it and decided to give it some curls and a bit of height. The finished product was simple and elegant - which is what I was hoping for considering we were keeping the wedding simple as well.
On the morning of the wedding my sixteen-year-old bridesmaid showed up looking not unlike a pizza. She was covered in spots! But Sarah and Leanne worked their magic, and brought out the pretty girl she is.
Both of our hairstyles and make up lasted all day. Mine even survived my new husband taking the hired MG Roadster convertible out on the motorway with the top down - before we had our photos done. That's staying power! And it was wonderful to be completely at ease about my appearance on that most important of days.
Sarah and Leanne - a thousand thank yous. I felt beautiful and that goes such a long way to the enjoyment of the day.
