Vanessa's Wedding

Hair and Make Up Trial

Vanessa contacted BP in August regarding her January 2009 wedding and came for her trial in November.

She brought her mum with her and we had a consultation about her hopes for her wedding look.

She had lovely features and the most amazing eyes and eyelashes.

I understood Vanessa was up for quite a defined eye make up and so I used quite a dark brown on top a taupe base to accentuate her natural eye shape, on the brow bone I used a high shine highlighter, we discussed eyeliner and I applied a dark brown pencil to the area under her eye and on the upper corner which I then smudged to soften.

I used a warm pink blusher for her cheekbones and on her lips I outline with a beech lip pencil and on top of this I applied a brown lip-gloss.

Wow she looked  radiant and beautiful, I am pleased mum came to, its important to have an opinion of someone who you love and trust to help you make a decision on the most important day of a girls life!- and mum agreed!

We arrived at Vanessa apartment at 11am; it was chilly bust reasonably bright more importantly it was dry!

I had Vanessa’s sisters make up to do, she wanted something light and so I applied a light beige and cream eye shadow which I shaded and applied a coat of waterproof black mascara, she also had the most amazing eyelashes, I applied a pink lip-gloss which was her own it was in the tube quite a ‘Hot Pink’ but on her lips worked perfectly, she was happy with her look and so was Vanessa!

Next was mum’s turn, she said although in the past she had wore quiet a lot of make up, she was finding it more difficult to apply, and so it was quite an honour for me!

Her outfit was a dark pinkie red suit so taking into account this and her eye colour I applied a matt grey eye shadow on the lower lid with a silver highlighter on her brow bone, I did not feel she needed a dark eyeliner so applied a touch of shadow on the outer corner of her eyes. A coat of black waterproof mascara finished the eye make up! On her cheeks I used a toast blusher which gave the effect of blusher but very subtly, on her lips we used her own lipstick which was a rose tone and matched the eyes and her outfit perfectly, she was really happy with her make up and the girls commented on how lovely she looked!

Next was the blushing bride! I re0-crteated the look achieved at Vanessa’s trial and it all went flawlessly, she looked so lovely, especially after Dani had finished her wedding hair. She took us into the bedroom to show us her dress on the hanger, it was stunning!

Dad took some pictures and promised to send some of the day so we could see the complete look.

This was one of my favourite jobs, I use the word job lightly – the Pickards were a lovely family and I wish them and Vanessa all the best for the future x
