Sarah's Wedding

Hair and Make Up trial

It was raining the evening Sarah came for her trial - however she was so smiley and excited about her make up!

I asked whether she had a look in mind and she said that she had a brief idea, but nothing set in stone!!  She was very clear that she did not usually wear a lot of make up, so I made sure that I started of light!

The first make up I did, Sarah liked, but her face said "its ok" not "it’s the one!"  This was using gold’s and browns.

I suggested trying aubergines and plums and Sarah was up for trying anything which is good as some Brides are set in stone as to what they like and it can be a little frustrating when you really think a contrast would suit them!

I used lavender on the lids and blended to the socket line into a shimmery pearlescent white.  To accentuate her eyes I used the darker shade in the pallet and blended well.  On the lower lid I used a tiny grey pencil which I then smudged.  Black waterproof mascara finished the eyes - I applied a pink based blusher and a dark pink Benefit lipstick.

When Sarah saw herself in the mirror her expression said it all - this was the Bridal make-up - I am so happy when my Brides get this look in their eye!

She left the trial happy and confident and looking forward to her wedding day!

We found Sarah's cottage by using the Sat Nav!! Sarah was upstairs on the phone seemingly pretty chilled out!!

Her Bridesmaid's welcomed us in and this was the first time we had met - I started on Sarah's first Bridesmaid, she had a really lovely colourful complexion and when I asked her what she wanted she said browns.

She wanted to use a reddy coloured lipstick which was great!! I used a dark brown and mocha eye shadow and brown cream Clinique mascara.  The eye shadow was quite dramatic but it really suited her, she only needed a dash of blusher and her lovely lipstick finished it off - beautiful!

The next Bridesmaid again wanted naturals so I used gold’s.  She was also really pretty, her hair was curled using the straighteners and she looked like a Greek goddess!!  She had lovely skin and the look was finished off with her lipstick which was a brownie gloss.

My next client was Sarah's mum - she had a green outfit and wanted green eye shadow, I used 2 types of green shade eye shadow and although it sounds odd I added a dab of peach pearlescent from the same Channel palette and gold.  Her eyelashes were quite short and I was able to add mascara to the bottom lashes using an orange stick and using the wand on the top lashes.  I tried a couple of lipsticks before setting on a bronze based YSL lipstick - she looked stunning!

My next client was Sarah - the Bride herself! We added a base and then the Photogenic Lancôme foundation.  Powder was used to set the make up.  I carried out the same method as I had done at the trial and her eyes looked amazing!!

I applied black waterproof mascara of course and waited for the hair to be done.  Before finishing with the lipstick in nude by Benefit.
