Laura's Wedding
Hair and Make Up trial
Laura and her mum came in March for her make up and hair trial, she had won the Chronicle win a wedding competition and was quite shy and nervous.
We ran through a couple of details and also had a brief discussion about what make up she usually wore.
She had the most gorgeous auburn hair and I was really looking forward to creating something special for her.
I started by applying a medium coverage foundation which I set with powder.
On her eyes I applied a natural eye shadow consisting of browns and creams, although Laura liked it, you could tell she wasn’t 100%.
I asked her to remove the eye make up as the foundation was a good colour match and this time I went for eye shadow in Plum colours.
I started by applying a heather coloured base which is took up to the socket line, I then applied a lilac toned shimmery highlighter which I blended well into the base colour.
To emphasis Laura’s eyes, using a darker plum I blended into the socket line and took a little under her lash line and suing a line softening brush softened this.
To finish off added a couple of coats of black mascara and bam! That was the look”!
Wedding Morning
It was a gorgeous morning when we arrived at Gilda – Laura’s mum’s house. All the bridal party was there and the atmosphere was totally relaxed and very friendly!
I started on Liza – Laura’s sister who was bridesmaid, after applying a Lancôme photogenic foundation whish I set with powder I started on her eye make up.
I applied a cream base; blending into the socket I added a rich bronze. As Liza usually wore eyeliner on top and bottom I applied a chocolate brown pencil and softened the lines. After the eye shadow I applied a couple of coats of black mascara.
On her cheek I applied a bronze coloured blusher and on her lips a neutral lip gloss
Next was Natalie, she was really nervous about having too much make up on and so bearing this in mind I applied a tinted moisturiser on her face instead of foundation.
On her eyes I went for minimal eye shadow in an assortment of browns but with a shimmer to them. I then added a coat of Mascara and a tiny amount of eyeliner on the lower lid. On her cheeks I applied a rose coloured blusher and on her lip just a clear gloss!
Gilda – Laura’s mum was next, on Gilda I applied a medium coverage foundation s she has great skin and set this with a loose powder. I applied a light grey to start with and into the contours I applied a darker grey to bring out Gilda’s eyes.
I then applied a couple of coats of black mascara and on her cheeks the same Rose coloured blush as I had on Natalie.
On her lips we went for a rose coloured pink lipstick which brought out the eye make up a treat!
Next the Bride Laura, I set about re-creating the eye make up as we had done at the trial, she looked stunning especially after Leanne had finished her wedding hair!
Wow it was a lovely wedding to be taken part in and we felt very privileged to be there to share it.
We wish Kai and Laura and her family all the best of everything!
