Kirsty's Wedding
Hair and Make Up trial
Kirsty got in touch with Beau Papillon in September which in usual terms is pretty near to the Big day!
She came to see me with her mum and we all squeezed into my beauty room for her make up trial. We discussed colours and Kristy’s specific requests for her make up , the emphasis being on a natural look.
I applied a light foundation with minimal congealer as Kirsty had such excellent skin and set this with a loose powder.
On Kirsty’s eyes I applied a cream Chanel eye shadow which was very pearlescent; in the socket line I applied a Christian Dior taupe colour which had slight glitter particles, I continued this colour under the eye. We decided not to use an eyeliner and so a coat of mascara was all that was needed to complete the look for the eyes.
I applied a pinkie blusher which highlighted her cheek bones and on the lips I first applied Kirsty’s own lip-gloss but this was too pinkie, so then we tried a more pinkie brown lip-gloss which was spot on!
Mum was curious about her own make up and so we decided to have a go! Mum usually wore only foundation and a touch of lipstick so this was a challenge!
By that I mean to create a look mum would be happy with, without feeling too made up or unlike her usual self as she was going to walk Kirsty down the aisle!
We talked about the colour of her outfit and in the end decided to use grey tones.
I mixed a couple of foundations to get the right shade and then set with poweder.
I used Clinque ‘Moody Blues’ on mums eyes with the lighter grey as the base.
Because mum never wears mascara adding it really opened up her eyes! We talked about the benefits of an eyelash tint and how this would benefit her da9ily routine
On her lips we used a juicy tube which looked perfect!!
Wedding day...
We arrived at Kirsty’s house on her wedding day to glorious sunshine
It was very relaxed and the 4 of us Kirsty, mum, dani and I had coffee and chatted about life & the universe and then thought we’d better get started!!!
I started with Lynne’s make up and re-created the make up we had created at the trial, Lynne had previously had her eyelashes tinted and this really made a difference in emphasising and opening up her eyes
We decided to leave the lipstick till later on, due to more coffee calling!!
I then applied Kirsty’s make up, she was very happy and totally looking forward to her day, and she actually looked radiant even before the make up! This made my job much easier!
I started on the foundation and a light dusting of powder to ‘set’, I applied the eyeshadow as I had at the trial, but this time added more layers of mascara.
She really did look like a model blushing bride and just radiated beauty, youthfulness and romance!
Meanwhile Dani had blow dried Lynne’s hair and so she was almost ready and able to relax and potter about tying up the wedding morning loose ends, Dani started on Kristie’s hair and created the most elegant chignon, she twisted and manoeuvred her hair to create the perfect detail at the back, she fixed Kirsty’s hair accessories to her approval and finished with spray.
She was so happy, the sun was shining on that day and so was she!
