Kimberley's Wedding
Hair and Make Up trial
Kimberley contacted me in February for her wedding in November! And a trial was arranged for March, she came along with her mum and we all hit it off instantly!
She talked about her needs and we discussed the details of her wedding and package requirements.
On Kimberley
Kimberley is young and has a lovely fresh faced complexion, I wanted to carry this on with her make up and give her a youthful light make up, so I used a variety of earthy tones from Christian Dior which had a lovely iridescent shimmer to it! I did not use any eyeliner as this would have appeared too heavy although I accentuated her eyes with lashings of mascara. On her lips we agreed on a simple lip gloss on top of a beech coloured lip pencil.
On Kimberley's mum - Jenny
I used a dusky pink shade from the Body Shop on her eyelids and blended a chocolate colour in the socket line; on her brow bone I applied a matt cream highlighter. Her blusher was a light pink. On her lips we used a rose lipstick, she looked beautiful!
The Wedding day...
Dani and I arrived at 09.30 everybody was in dressing gowns all ready chilled out, the thing I noticed about the girls is how happy they appear to be every time I met them and even on Kimberley’s wedding day they we bubbly and happy!
I started with Leanne (Kimberley’s sister) because we had not done a trial we had a brief consultation on her requirements, as Leanne is only 20 her skin was fantastic and so applied a light foundation just to create an even tone more than for concealing purposes! Leanne does not usually wear any make up so I kept the eyeshadow light and neutral, I applied a thin layer of Black mascara and added a rose coloured blush to her cheeks. We did not apply lipstick as Leanne wanted to use her own lip balm and in keeping with her youthful look I had to agree!
Dani was doing Kimberley’s child bridesmaids and through consultation with Kimberley she was happy to carry the theme on with the other bridesmaid as they were various ages, the hairstyles could be adapted, the hair was curled round straightening irons and then pinned up, and a tiara would be added as would a variety of jewelled grips.
Next I did Jenny’s make up because we had previously done a trial I recreated this make up; I had at an earlier appointment tinted Jenny’s eyelashes so this made applying the mascara close to the lids easier! Jenny had bought a lipstick close to the one used at the trial and so I applied this to her lips and perfected the look – beautiful!
Dani had now finished Kimberley’s hair and due to a brief trial in August the look was discussed again and Kimberley’s pictured viewed once more.
Kimberley’s hair was first curled to give it body and the dani secured the back section using pins and grips – detail was added in to the back and this gave a great focal point as Kimberley had decided not to wear a veil, I am sure you’ll agree she look sophisticated and stunning!
We moved to the conservatory for Kimberley’s make up, I retrieved the trial sheet I had completed and set about re-creating the make up.
I decided to add a tiny bit of grey eyeliner to her upper and lower lids to add further definition which Kimberley was happy with. I used a lip liner to outline Kimberley’s lips, then I applied a clear lip-gloss, to finish the look I added highlighter to Kimberley’s cheek bones.
We finished early and we both really enjoyed being part of Kimberley and the family’s day, they were all so friendly and fun!
Today is Monday as I am writing this and when I got home today on my doormat was a jiffy bag with the lipsticks I had loaned and 2 pieces of wedding cake and a lovely note from Jenny – a Beau Papillon first!
Best of everything in the world to Kimberley and her family it was an absolute joy!
