Anna's Wedding
Hair and Make Up trial
Anna was based in London and was getting married in Bath due to fond romantic memories! So on the morning of her hair and make up trial she arrived at Bath Spa train station at 8.30am. I am based approximately 6 miles outside of Bath City Centre and to keep costs down I offered to meet Anna at the park and ride stop and drive her home for her trial. It was a nice way to finally meet after months of emailing!
On the drive home I managed to find out more information about her wedding and also her make up expectations. As we settled down and removed her make up, Anna said she did not want to look too made up as this would not be her, but also totally appreciated the need for a balance for photographic purposes!
I used a Chanel gold base and used a dark brown on the socket line. I did not apply any eyeliner which I felt would be to severe, so using a softening brush I applied the brown eye shadow under the lower lash line. A couple coats of mascara and a slight finish to her cheeks. I mixed together 2 different shades of lip gloss as I could not find the correct shade and this completed her look - she looked radiant and youthful!
After an early newborn and a lot of hassle, Anna managed to have her hair trial 2 days before her wedding! A couple of styles were tried out on her shoulder length hair, the benefit being she could decide what look she wanted and Dani, the new mum - would have no trouble remembering!
The Wedding day...

I received an email to say that Dani and I were to go to the Royal Crescent as Anna and her family had booked an apartment to leave from!! - We were so excited to be actually working from within the crescent!! It was a beautifully sunny day and there was not a cloud in the sky!
The booking was for 4 Bridesmaids hair and make up, Mother of the Bride hair and make up and of course Anna herself! So as you can imagine it was a very busy apartment - everyone was so friendly and welcoming.
I started on Vicky the Groom's sister and even after a heavy night she had lovely skin!! The make up was light but shimmery and a beigey peach lipstick completed the look. The next into the chair was Sara She had just had a baby 9 weeks ago and was so excited about having her hair and make up done! She had such delicate features and stunning eyes so I applied brown shades and a couple of coats of black mascara, a pink gloss brought the look alive and her re-action when she saw herself was excellent!!
Pam was next, Anna’s mum and after we talked about her outfit colour we went for greys. She wanted some black eyeliner applied to her top lid, so I used an cake eyeliner which glides on and has waterproof properties. I added a light red (fraise) juicy tube - she looked funky and glamorous!!
Bethan was next, Anna's sister - she had dark brown hair and told me she usually wore browns - I asked if I could try something different and she agreed so I applied a gold base from Chanel which I took to just above the socket line. I then blended a lighter gold shade to the brow bone.
I applied a dark brown to the socket line and under the lower lashes, which I then gave a light Smokey effect. A neutral lip-gloss completed the look. Bethan was really happy with her look.
Finally Catrin was next she had dreads and explained how she would not usually wear neutral colours as the other Bridesmaid had but was happy to follow suit for Anna her sister. However I wanted to put a hint of Catrin personality by doing it slightly different! I added a neutral base all over the eyelid and a slightly darker shade into the socket line.
Using a bright white eye shadow and using a damp liner brush, I applied a pearly white line all over the top lid. A coat of mascara really added definition to the eyes. To tie in Catrin make up with the other girls, I added the same lip colour as I had on Bethan? Catrin loved her make up and so did Anna.
A slightly nervous Anna came to the hot seat next - using the sheet I had completed at the trial showing the exact products used, I set about re-creating her make up. I left the lipstick until Dani had finished Anna's hair.
Applying the lipstick and looking at her she was so pretty and so youthful looking and totally and utterly excited and in love with her Beau, I am sure she had the best day ever!
